Fast Escova: a corner salon with a mirror, a chair and plain talk
On Rua Acuruí, in the Vila Formosa district of São Paulo, Fast Escova looks after hair, fingernails and toenails, and offers beauty treatments. Beside the chairs stands a shelf with cosmetics, toiletries, costume jewellery and small keepsakes.
This page is for the curious, the ones who like to size up a salon before taking a seat: what the salon does, where to find it and how to request an appointment.
Fast EscovaFour chairs, four kinds of care
Each station below matches an activity listed in the company's federal registration. None of it is a price list or a promise of results: what each head of hair, patch of skin or nail needs gets agreed on the spot, up close.
-
Hair
Washing, cutting, blow-drying and the rest of the hairdresser's trade, carried out by the salon's own professionals.
Before the scissors come out, we ask how you wear your hair on an ordinary weekday and take note of anything you refuse outright.
-
Hands and feet
Manicure and pedicure, with tools set aside for each appointment and the table wiped down between guests.
Polish, shape and length are entirely your call; the manicurist only offers an opinion when asked.
-
Beauty care
The other grooming services the registration files under beauty and aesthetics, none of them a medical procedure.
If you have a question about your skin or about a treatment you are already following, please check with a health professional first.
-
The shelf
Retail of cosmetics, fragrances and personal hygiene items, plus costume jewellery, handicrafts and souvenirs.
A few food items sit on the counter as well. Stock changes, so ask before making a trip for something in particular.
From the door to the mirror
First-timers often want to know what a visit looks like. There is no mystery to it: it is the route through any neighbourhood salon, spelled out here only to take the edge off the first time.
- Front desk You give your name and the service booked; if you walked in, we check whether someone on the team is free.
- A quick chat The professional asks what you are after and what you would hate. A reference photo on your phone goes a long way.
- Basin or table Hair heads to the wash basin; hands and feet go to the manicure table or the pedicure armchair.
- The chair The work happens facing the mirror, so you can follow along and change course whenever you like.
- One last look Before you stand up, take your time checking everything. If something bothers you, say so right there.
Questions we hear at the counter
- Can I drop in just to buy a nail polish or a bracelet?
- Yes. The shelf serves people who are not booked for a chair; walk in and ask to have a look.
- Do you see men?
- The company's registration does not limit who it serves. Mention in your request the service in question and the team will tell you whether that service is offered.
- Will you use a product I bring?
- Agree on it beforehand by e-mail or phone; the answer depends on the service and on the product.
- Is there parking?
- This page does not list a private space. If you are driving, check the parking rules for the street before you leave home.
How to ask for a slot
The easiest route is to write to the salon or call the landline. Tell us which service you have in mind and which part of the day usually suits you; the reply comes back with the openings for that week.
What this mirror leaves out
- Prices, packages and promotions are not shown here; they shift with hair length, the service chosen and the materials used.
- We do not publish photos of guests or testimonials.
- How long a visit takes depends on the request; we will not quote a duration before seeing you.
- Anyone allergic to a product should mention it in the request or as soon as they arrive.
